Personality: On the surface, Danny appears to be cheerful and friendly, extending a kind hand to those who appear to be in need. Not only that, but he advises others on ways to stay safe and healthy, which makes sense given his line of work. Especially in regards to one's eyes: keep them away from dust and pointy objects, and take good care of them so that you won't go blind! As a result, it would be easy for him to gain the trust of others with his positive demeanor, as well as being intelligent enough to come up with solutions to a problem, thus being someone capable of saying and doing things that would make him be seen as a good person.

... The only problem is that Danny is not a good person, but he certainly appears to be a gifted actor when it comes to pretending to be one. In reality, Danny is shrewd and calculating, meticulously performing actions and saying whatever will get him closer to the result he desires most in a situation. As a psychologist, he's developed the skills to pick up on the tics that other people have, and uses his observations to manipulate and exploit the people around him. He can commit horrific crimes and get away with it because really, who would believe that such a kind therapist would hurt his patients like that? Clearly it must have been someone else that caused this poor person to die or disappear.

However, his warped way of thinking shows most clearly when the subject of a person's eyes is brought up: he's utterly fascinated by them, and a lot of his well-crafted schemes can become easily undone if he allows his fixation to interfere. We're supposed to get information, but this person's eyes are just so interesting that they can't be ignored, perhaps we should see what they will look like if we say this thing instead to make them despair? This type of thought process is seen especially in his interactions with Rachel; he's supposed to play the part of being "just as lost as she is" within the building she finds herself in, but he slips up a few times in his act as he comments on her eyes, to the point where Rachel realizes that he's dangerous and tries to get away from him.

This leads to Danny showing one of his greatest weaknesses: when things don't go the way that he planned, his calm facade shatters and he allows his emotions to get the best of him. This scan range from being more vindictive and crueler than ever before, or downright screaming and throwing a fit over Rachel choosing not to stay. He swears to Zack that he will be the one who kills her, and even goes so far as to try to burn down the building and everyone in it because if he can't have what he wants, why should anyone else get what they want? Everyone can just die for all he cares, and as such, all sense of reason gets tossed aside, making his actions sloppier and opening himself up to being tricked or harmed due to his carelessness.

Otherwise, Danny is the type of person that will be your best friend one day, the next he'll have you strapped to a surgical table, saying that you have only yourself to blame for being foolish enough to trust him. And he'll use his silver tongue to make you believe that you deserve it, too. But because of his inability to truly understand the concept of love and friendship, it just makes being at the top lonely and miserable. Deep down, the one thing he actually wants the most in the world is for there to be someone out there who understands and still cares about him despite the things he has done, but because of his actions, it's something he's never going to get. Not unless he can find that one in a million person who can accept him despite his psychosis, or if he finds someone that can inspire him to change just enough to meet their needs.

Due to his previous stay in Ryslig, there is actually one person that he did find that was willing to accept his bad personality. Unfortunately, that person was Aunamee who encouraged his more awful tendencies than his good ones, so as a result he hasn't actually changed that much so much as redirected his yandere obsessive tendencies from wanting to do anything Gray or Rachel wanted, to whatever Aunamee wants. Due to the fourth wall event in 2019, however, he did have a scare in the form of experiencing his worst fear: going completely blind, and was forced to experience what that was like that he himself had inflicted on others in the past. It won't necessarily stop him from continuing to want to murder people for their eyes, but it did allow him to have a moment of self-reflection about the issue, as well as a rather honest conversation with Rachel that involved finally accepting that she wasn't always going to be the person he wanted her to be. Whether or not he actually abides by this agreement, or chooses to ignore this entire epiphany remains to be seen, as it could easily swing either way depending on his whims.
