[ Riou's thought a lot about this. It's been some time since he found out what happened to Jyuto, but since Jyuto isn't aware that the anonymous hacker he's been talking to is Riou, he can't openly threaten the man. Riou isn't supposed to know, because Jyuto doesn't know that he told Riou. Jyuto needed someone else.
But "Solon" isn't just the name that Riou gave to anonymously offer his services to Jyuto, only doing so because he thought it would be fun to surprise Jyuto. It's also his call sign from the Navy, in which he was a Sergeant and a special ops sniper known for being cold-blooded, unhesitating. Merciless past a single warning.
And so, after much thought, he's decided to make certain that Danny doesn't get any bright ideas about finding ways to cross Jyuto without ruining himself. For this reason, Riou is on top of a building, far enough out of sight that you would have to look through a sniper scope to get a good view of him.
Which is what he's doing to Danny right now. Once he finds him, he gets out his phone and sends a single text: ]
Left upper arm.
[ He'll give him a moment to think about what such an ominous text means. And while he does, he'll start setting up his shot. ]
[Funny story, Danny was actually a fucking novice at using a cellphone before he ended up here in this world, and while there are still some things he's getting used to (like how people can tell if you've left them on "read only" for example), it doesn't take him too long to get his phone out and open it here when he hears the ping indicating a notification.
... And then proceeds to stare at the text in confusion, because there's no name attached to whoever sent it, as well as being a rather random one to suddenly get. Did he get this by mistake? What does "left upper arm" mean... unless someone is trying to tell him that he should be looking at his own left arm for some reason? Did he spill something on his coat without noticing, or...
Riou will likely see Danny in his scope turn his head a little to look at his left shoulder and arm, even turning his left hand over checking to see if there's anything particularly off. And thus, making the mistake of not even looking in a potential direction of where a sniper might be.]
[ Riou waits patiently for him to get out his phone, watching silently through the scope. He wants to make sure he's read it before he takes his shot.
It's important, because he wants the person to know that he didn't miss. This wasn't an assassination attempt, this was a warning.
When he turns his head to look at his left arm, Riou takes the shot. It only takes one, and he hits exactly where he intended to: Danny's left upper arm. He can't stay where he is, since it is still a gunshot and someone will have heard it. And so, he doesn't stick around to watch. He has to quickly disassemble and re-hide his rifle parts in an inconspicuous gym duffle and head to the gym. Alibis are important. Danny won't be paying attention to his phone now anyway, he'll likely be heading to a hospital, so there's no point in rushing the next message. That will come later. ]
"likely be heading to a hospital" more like "hiding in an alley like a paranoid idiot"
[Danny hears the gunshot, of course, feels the sting of bullet connecting with flesh, but for the first few seconds, for a moment it's that temporary state of shock, not quite sure of what just happened. He sees the blood pouring from the wound and down his arm, staining his coat and dripping onto the ground near where his phone has landed; he must have dropped it when he had been struck and hadn't noticed until now. He can distantly hear a person shouting somewhere far in the distance, wondering where that noise came from or which direction the gunshot had been aimed at.
And that, of all things is what triggers Danny's awareness of the situation to speed up and hit him seconds before the actual pain from the fact that he's been fucking shot. He quickly brings a hand up to the wound, presses hard against it to try to keep the blood in there where it belongs, but that's not going to last long, he knows. He quickly looks around--no people around to see him standing here, but there will probably be someone heading this way sooner or later looking for the source of that gunshot heard, but instead of staying still, he starts to run away, only remembering to pick his phone up off the ground at the last second before he can make the mistake of leaving it behind.
He ducks into an alley, sheds his coat and folds it one-handed to hold against the wound so that he doesn't potentially bleed out here. He breathes hard, listening for any more potential gunshots coming--maybe he should have stayed put, but the risk of being shot again had already sent his feet running to hide here. He really should call for an ambulance to come get him, but instead his phone, slippery in his hands with his blood, pulls up his list of contacts as he starts slowly begins pulling himself along in what he hopes is a far enough direction away from the shooter.
For a brief second, his thumb hovers over the name, second-guessing himself on whether it's really a good idea to ask for his help (he is at least sane enough to know he probably can't patch a bullet injury himself, especially if he might need to remove said bullet if it's still in his arm somewhere), but then his grip on the phone slips and the name is selected, already sending the call--]
well, i never said riou was a good judge of personal sense
[ Riou, on the other hand, goes about his day as usual. He doesn't behave paranoidly, simply going to the gym and being cautious that his duffle stays in a locked locker so no one accidentally gets into his things. He works out for about an hour before showering and following up with Danny via text. ]
I do not miss my targets. This was a warning shot. Death is not permanent in this world and not a good enough threat because of it. Attempt to get out from underneath Jyuto Iruma's influence or cause future harm to him, I will target the following non-fatal locations in order: > Pelvis > Feet > Hands > Vagus nerve with rubber bullets
[ The last one is very specific because he wouldn't want to kill him with it, but causing damage like that would at minimum fuck up his digestive system for a week and spread pain through basically every organ he has. His point is long-term pain, not death. ]
[It's... gonna be a while before Danny sees this message on account of the whole being busy with not bleeding to death issue. By the time he does, likely more than an hour or two has passed since the text, and for a moment, he stares at it with a grim sort of horror and acknowledgement that his suspicions had been correct: getting shot was definitely intentional, and it had something to do with Jyuto.
Now he's even more glad that he didn't go to the hospital to deal with it, he doesn't want an investigation being done into why someone would shoot him on a Moon Knight's behalf. Pretty sure the murder of a cop outweighs him getting shot, after all.
He kind of has to type one-handed at the moment, but he responds--]
And just how am I supposed to be useful, when you've gone and caused such an aggravating injury for me here? Hasn't anyone ever told you that a doctor's ability to use their hands is one of their most important assets?
I guess you'll have to hope that he doesn't ask me for something that I now can't do anytime soon.
[--so I guess telling his shooter he's an idiot is what he decides to do here, because what is good decision making when you're delirious from pain.]
I think you should be more concerned about your rash decisions here.
For example: what would you do if someone other than "Daniel Dickens" was looking at this phone right now?
[It's a bit of a bluff, but also potentially valid given the fact that he had called Gray to help him after getting shot. And while he doesn't think Gray would have looked at his phone and saw the initial text being received hours ago when Danny was too out of it to notice, there is also nothing stopping Gray from looking over Danny's shoulder as he texts now. (If Gray is even still there that is.)]
I would say you should put a password on your phone.
[ How can you be a murderer and not have basic phone security...? Riou is a little concerned that Danny is going to get himself caught by more than just Jyuto if he's that lax. ]
[He's not going to dignify this with a response anymore, not just because of the attempt at setting probable doubt on whether or not "Danny" is the one responding to this anymore, but also because he is in fact extremely tired and starting to pass out again, so instead he's going to chuck his phone aside and go back to ignoring it for a little while again.]

There are means of getting past a mere password if you know the right way to do so.

If so, I'll send instructions to better secure your phone. You're useless to Jyuto if you're caught.
